The Ocean Play Bahia is an excellent family or training dinghy. With its spacious, self-draining cockpit, it can accommodate the whole family or 2-3 students and an instructor but is small enough to pull up a slipway and easily navigate through a dinghy park.
The boat has a wide transom which makes the Bahia very stable and allows for comfortable sailing even when the wind picks up.
The roto-moulded hull is very robust and durable and can be easily beached, which is ideal for weekend trips.

The family dinghy
The Bahia is a family polyethylene dinghy. With good seating and controlled power, everyone will feel safe while sailing. The Laser Bahia will find its place in sailing schools wishing to offer a collective sailboat, but also with families wanting to share gliding sensations or quite simply share unique moments by sailing together, being able to stop on a beach and take out the picnic.
Stability and Performance
In designing this boat, Jo Richards managed to combine performance with stability. Under sail, the Bahia is very fine at the helm, the different sail settings are well positioned. Its wide hull will forgive small errors. Under spinnaker, the Bahia is very easy to handle and glides easily in light air. But as soon as the wind picks up, it will offer you wild schedules.
Simplicity and Ergonomics
On board, everything is within easy reach and does not hinder travel on board. The downhaul, for example, is inverted to leave maximum space under the boom during maneuvers. The mainsheet is taken up on a fixed pane, the mainsail is fitted with a quick reefing point. The spinnaker is mounted on a swallower. A single halyard allows it to be hoisted and lowered into its swallower.

Safety and maintenance
If by chance we capsize (this can happen), the boat will remain easy to right and reintegrate. the possibility of attaching a masthead float will provide more security by avoiding making a hat. The Bahia is designed in Tri-layer Polyethylene, it requires almost no maintenance, simply a little rinsing of the ends and the fittings
Shipping and Handling
For handling on land, a suitable launching trolley (optional) will allow you to easily cover the few meters that separate the storage area from the water's edge. For those who wish to go on vacation with their Bahia, a special road trailer allows you to easily transport your sailboat on the road.
